Ambalindum Park

Improving our green spaces

Through this project we aim to make the playground and surrounding parkland more attractive and inviting to the community through landscaping.  Each activity is designed to be implemented in a 2 to 4 hr blocks on the weekend.

We launched the project in November 2021, planting native trees, creating rock borders near the playground and mulching. We planted more trees and shrubs in April 2022. Stage one and four are largely complete. We still have some mulching to do.

The park is located on the corners of Ambalindum Park, Erldunda Circuit and Woolner Circuit, Hawker.

Adopt-a-Park Funding for remaining stages

This second stage of funding is going to be the most exciting!

We started this playground design small and simple

Now we bring out the big guns.

With the second round of grant money we will hire a contractor and bulldozer to bring in large landscape features such as boulders and sections of tree to add fun interactive elements to the playground.

They will also strip back the weed layer and heavily mulch the site in preparation for planting.

Once done it will be ready for us to plant it out with beautiful native plants.

Exciting new proposal

Hawker Community Landcare have been approached by the Kowalski Brothers Trailworks regarding a potential kid skills bike riding track for the perimeter of the Ambalindum Playground. This is currently at concept stage and nothing has been done as we are now starting to ask people for their input.

If you would like to know more about what these guys see the below articles for projects they have built.
